Wildlife safari az6/19/2023 ![]() I would recommend this zoo to anyone who loves animals and enjoys zoos. ![]() We had lunch at the large, onsite restaurant, and then continued our day of walking around admiring all the animals. One of my favorites was the new baby Jaguar, Onyx. The sheer number of exhibits is large, and you can easily spend hours walking from one to the next, admiring the beautiful animals. The animals appeared healthy and relatively happy. I was shocked at the high admission price ($40+ per person for adults), but my daughter's friend was a member, so she used one of her passes for my admission.Īs we began to walk around, I was very impressed with how clean and well cared for the animals and the grounds look. It was literally one of the last activities I did before the world shut down due to COVID19, and we had such a wonderful day and made memories that will last a lifetime. My adult daughter and her friend took me to visit this zoo on the first Monday in March, 2020. The park is well laid out so you don't feel like you are just walking in a circle, so make sure you follow the map to see where you are going (the map does need to be updated though some things were not where they were supposed to be).Ī super fun time and we spend the extra money to come back for the second day to make sure we saw everything. Bring cash if you are going to want to do any of the attraction/rides (about $6/person for each ride). We were very disappointed in the lack of cool souvenirs - I was looking for a really cool t-shirt that was 100% cotton and I didn't care of any of them. Make sure you bring your water bottle, had and sunscreen because you will be out in the hot sun for most of the time you are there. ![]() You will likely spend about 85% of your time in the zoo and 15% in the aquarium, as it's much smaller and still very cool. (One of the employees said they loan out animals to other zoos, etc., so maybe this had something to do with it.) We saw new animals we hadn't seen before, which is rare for us. We thought it a bit odd and interesting there were some of the same species and even type of animal/bird that were in different places/areas I can only imagine it's difficult to keep up with them all. There were SO many different varieties/species, it was incredible. We have been to many zoos, aquariums and amusement parks before but we were not prepared for how massive this property is. Unfortunately, we had only allotted for about 4 hours and we ran out of time. Plan to spend your entire day here if you expect to see everything. This was an awesome place! We only expected to need 3-4 hours (as we were told by a local family member) and were not expecting to have to come back for a second day. ![]() It took about 5 hours to do the whole park mind you this was with a wheelchair and 8 kids ranging from 5-16yrs old. The older section has tons of shade so it’s better to do in the afternoon. We enjoyed our time i would recommend doing the Safari side first just because it is new and there is very little shade on that side of the park. If you have someone who has trouble walking it’s worth the $20 cost for a wheelchair to use for the whole day. With Covid you will have to wear a mask the entire time your inside the park unless you are taking and drink or eating at one of the many food courts or Dillion’s restaurant. The quarters are for feeding the giraffes and other animals. The cash is for the $6/person cost for the train,Tram, and sky ride inside the park. Be sure to take cash and a roll of quarters with you. It melts and by the time people start asking for a drink that can have something refreshing. A great tip: take a frozen bottle of water for each family member that goes with you. ![]() There is a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes. Great prices on Groupon for tickets keep in mind that it’s best to print the ticket other wise your in line for ever trying to get signal to pull up the ticket. This is easy to get too right off the 303 hwy. This was a family trip with out of state family. ![]()
